Chris Ogden in Independent newspaper

"A surgeon with a shaky hand is a potential killer. So when it comes to the really tricky operations, robots are perfect for the job." (The Independent, 9th October 2007)

Chris Ogden has been trained in the UK and the USA and had his daVinci training in Paris. The first daVinci prostatectomy to be carried out in the private sector was performed by Chris Ogden and his colleagues at the Princess Grace Hospital in August 2005.

In his interview for the Independent he says of the robotic operation: "It is very comfortable to use, it irons out hand tremor and the 3D camera is wonderful. With 10 times magnification, you can see the dissection line between the edge of the prostate and the sheet of nerves more accurately. With the wristed instruments it is much easier to do intricate reconstructions in a confined space."
