Ken Anson

Ken Anson is a Consultant Urologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. George's Hospital, London, and is Consultant Urologist to Queen Mary's University Hospital, Roehampton. Ken has experience of working in a department where considerable subspecialisation exists and is presently the clinical leader in the Department of Urology at St George’s. His major responsibilities include lower and upper tract endoscopy and the management of urinary stone disease and he has a clinical interest in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Ken has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and was awarded his MS thesis entitled 'The Use of Lasers in the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia' in 1996. He presently supervises two research fellows working toward higher surgical degrees in the fields of novel imaging techniques of the pelvicalyceal system and the use of IT to develop robust monitoring systems of implantable medical devices. He is also part supervising a PhD project investigating catheter related urinary tract infections. He is a reviewer for the British Journal of Urology, European Urology and Urology.

Ken is a keen teacher and is a regular faculty member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons skills courses in rigid and flexible upper tract endoscopy and also regularly lectures and demonstrates on the Advanced Stone Management Course at the Royal College of Surgeons.
