Mark Emberton is Reader in Interventional Oncology for Royal Free and University College London School for Medicine. He holds posts as Honorary Consultant Urologist and as Divisional Clinical Director of Cancer Services at the University College Hospitals London. He is also Clinical Director of the Clinical Effectiveness Unit at the Royal College of Surgeons of England where he is working with a multi-disciplinary team on improving the quality of surgery. Mark is also an Associate Professor at Middlesex University, London.
Additionally, Mark works closely with his research fellows.His research interests are chiefly focused on diseases of the prostate gland and non-invasive methods of diagnosis and minimally invasive methods of treatment. He is a regular presenter at international scientific meetings and has written numberous scientific papers and many chapters for surgical texts, in addition to a number of books. For some time Mark has had considerable interest in developing materials for patients to help them take part in shared decision making.
