Paul Cathcart is a Senior Lecturer in Genitourinary Oncology at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London and Consultant Urological Surgeon at University College Hospital London (UCLH). Paul's principle interests lie in the diagnosis and management of men with suspected prostate cancer. Paul Cathcart is one of the designated robotic pelvic cancer surgeons at University College Hospital London. Prior to taking up his current position he completed a robotic and uro-oncology fellowship in Melbourne Australia under the tutorage of Professor Tony Costello - one of the worlds leading robotic prostate cancer surgeons. Before leaving for Australia, Paul was an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at University College Hospital London. Paul combines a high volume robotic clinical practice with an active research programme. His research interests lie in evaluating outcomes after cancer treatment together with studying prostate cancer epidemiology. Paul has recently commenced a programme of research evaluating the benefit of radical prostate cancer therapy in the older man and is one of the clinical leads on the National Prostate Cancer Audit. Paul's research is carried out at the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine within the Bart's Cancer Institute and at the Clinical Effectiveness Unit of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
